The tif/jpeg probably has a Heading (1,2 or 3) style associated with it. Click the representative TOC to take you to where the graphic is located within the document then highlight the graphic and change the style to something other than Heading 1,2 or 3. Go back and update the TOC and the graphic should be removed.

Other posters may offer other/better solutions.
