I think we may have a language (or jargon) problem. I do not understand what it is you are trying to do. I do not understand what is happening instead. I'm sure that what you are asking has meaning to you, just not to me.
"Indent" = paragraph margin
"Tab setting" = places for insertion point to jump to when you press tab key

Which style?
- Show the styles pane.
- Right click on the style you want to modify.
- Click on "modify" and a modify style dialog will open up.
- Click on the format button.
- Select "Paragraph."
- Set the Indent(s) that you want.
- Click on OK
- Apply the style.
