Hi there,
I have Outlook 2013 (OS:Win 7 home premium 64bit) and I have multiple e-mail accounts.
The one e-mail account I have is a Microsoft "Live" account for example is
johndoe@live.co.za(not my real address just using it as example) and a alias address connected to it for example say
missdoe@live.co.za (set as default account in outlook
2013),I have setup both of these addresses so that they appear in Outlook 2013 with their own inbox's, sent
items including sub folders etc...
I opened Outlook 2013 and the inbox, sent items for the account was gone my sub-folders are mixed up,have some duplicate folders with same names,e-mails that where in various sub-folders are not in their original sub-folders that they were in
(for example e-mails say from
newsletters@cats.com are now located in sub-folder Dogs and the e-mails that where in Dogs folder are now in Eagles folder) and some of the other sub-folders that had e-mails in them are empty.
I logged into Outlook.com via my browser and there everything seemed fine sub-folders with correct e-mails in them ok ,inbox with all my new/other e-mails are there.
My other e-mail accounts where not effected, among them 2 other @outlook.com addresses not linked to each other(meaning one is not the alias address of the other one)
The other thing I noticed was that "Inbox" is gone under the favorites and 2 other of my sub-folders are listed under favorites that was not there previously.
I always sort /move my e-mails to their sub-folders manually ,no message rules are setup so they are automatically moved to their sub-folders when downloaded.
Is this a virus or malware?
