Default Permissions and autosending of emails

Long story. I have shared permissions on my calendar (Outlook 2002). I will sometimes update my calendar and invite ONE person to a meeting. when he accepts the invite, the original invite is sent out to the people who also have shared permissions (even the ones for whom I have revoked viewing permissions.) Is there any way to turn off these automatically sent emails? Could it be that the person I am inviting to the meeting has shared permissions for all of those other people who are subsequently sent emails?
