It depends which Works version you have. For versions 7 to 9, Word 2016 will open the WPS files for editing. Frankly I would install Works 8.5 or later on your new computer in order to maintain compatibility with Works spreadsheets.

If you have Word on the old computer, you will be able to open your Works documents and SaveAs Word document format, similarly with Excel files.

If you don't have Word on the new PC nor the installation media for Works on your old one (though that isn't surmountable) then investigate FileMerlin.
