Font will not lose Italic. Corruption?
On a family member's laptop running W7 and Word 2007 or 2010, the font of choice, Accord Light SF, has begun coming up italic. That is, the cursor and typed letters are italic, and the Quick Style in the Ribbon sometimes shows the example as italic; this is unstable. The style is Normal; I changed the font on request for both the Normal template and a custom stationery one. Normal in the styles pane sometimes appears in italic, other times not. Italic is not selected in the style modification dialogue, nor does the italic button in the ribbon show as enabled. Enabling and disabling it has no effect. Clear all has no effect on the italic but works to clear other para or character overlays (e.g., align R).
From a random sampling of other fonts, this appears to be the only one exhibiting this behavior; Calibri, TNR, Arial, etc. are fine.
I note that the Style mod dialogue includes a field for Latin/Complex scripts/All scripts, and the font dialogue has a complex script area. I assume this has something to do with a limitation of the font requiring other fonts for special characters?
If the font is corrupt, how does one correct it? Is this font available separately on the Office installation DVD, or might this be a Word repair issue?
