I would also explore the option to create both versions in the same document and use a macro to show/hide content depending on which version you want to see. I've just done a template along those lines and I used Content Controls to tag areas and then used a macro to loop through the CCs and show/hide that content depending on the tag.

Thanks for your reply. I've dabbled a bit in Field Codes, but would definitely need a refresher to be able to do what I want to. Not worried about that. My concern is that since it is for work, I can't really require my team to be this proficient in Word, and I know some of my co-workers would not grasp this easily (they find v-lookups a challenge).
I like your idea of having them in the same document and then just hiding the one you don't want. I'll have to run that by the boss but it might be the best option.
