Did it occur to you to look in the
Mailmerge Tips and Tricks 'Sticky' thread at the top of the Mailmerge forum? See:

The same code (under the
Send Mailmerge Output to Individual Files heading) has been posted on multiple forums and will let you specify any field in your data source for use in the output filename.
As for your comment that "the codes I found don't quite do what I would like", that doesn't really tell anyone what the code you've found doesn't do that you want it to...
