RON BROWN is on a distinguished road
Default Wod 2007 languages

I have two new computers both HP, a desktop and a laptop. I installed Office 2007 on both and changed language settings in both word and Windows 7 to permit me to type in both English and Spanish. I made the same changes on both machines and the HP desktop works fine, I can type on the desktop in both languages and spelling and grammar checks work great. For example, in order to type unique Spanish characters I press the right alt key and the letter.
However, I am unable to type in Spanish on the laptop. The spell check works fine and I can usually rely on it to give me the accented letters that I need, but at times it does not work because the spelling can be suttle, such as como no accent and como with an accent needed. I am using the laptop to type this letter and I am unable to type the como with an accent.
What am I missing? Is there something else that I must change in order to type in Spanish on my laptop?
Here are the settings I setup on both machines:
Word 2007
Language settings
English (Canada)
English (United States)
Spanish (Spain Traditional Sort)

Keyboard settings:
Default English (Canada) United States International.
Keyboard:
US
Canadian French
Canadian Multinational Standard
United States International
I have compared the settings on both machines and they are the same. Why can't I type in Spanish on my laptop when I can on my desktop? I must be missing something and am losing what little hair that I have left.
I need some help. Thank you.
