Default Custom Color in word 2010?

Guys, how can I set up some custom colors in the (font) color drop down menu in word 2010?

You know, where you can see RECENT colors. Is there a way to do that so that my color choices stay there forever?

Thanks

George

If you pick a different theme (or a different set of theme colors) you would see that (under the "Theme Colors" heading) as you display the Font drop down.

Click Page Layout tab | Fonts | Create New Theme Fonts.

Well, I still can't figure it out as the FONT option is greyed out but at least I figured out (with the help of the second link) how to save a style which also works but, I still would like to be able to do the color thing.

Themes (including fonts and colors) only work with files in Word 2007/2010 formats (*.docx, *.docm, *.dotx, *.dotm); they don't work for Word 97-2003 documents and templates (*.doc and *.dot).

Right you are, now it works. I had it set to doc so it would be compatible with other stuff. Now that I know, I will continue with the older format but I'll use styles instead as it seems easy enough to get to.

Thanks

George

That is a wise decision. If you make proper use of styles and templates, you really don't have to mess with themes.
