Occasionally, I have a Word File where an important picture won't stay in the correct position. I have the picture formatted to be positioned by page or margin, put the pictures keep re-positioning - in certain documents. Often the picture will be in the right place until I print, save. Then it will move again.

Has anyone else run into this problem. Is there a way to fix it through settings?

Try This

Insert a text box or shape. Fill this with a picture and format to no line.
Select the shape/text box. This will then reveal Picture Tools on the Ribbon.

Choose positions and the more layout option.

If picture is required to stay in the same place all the time, choose Position Tab and select the Absolute options - there are several choices.

On Wrapping Tab, say you pick Top and Bottom option, then you can choose the distance from text.

For the picture without a text box, setting the position to absolute by margin or page did not work.

In my most recent encounter with this problem, I had the picture rotated 8 degrees. I noticed that when I put the picture back to 0 degrees rotation, Word managed to follow the positioning settings. So I went to Photoshop, rotated the picture to 8 degrees, and inserted that picture into Word. As long as Word didn't have to calculate the rotation, it held that picture in place.
