Default Formatting existing text

Hello
I am a new user to Word 10. I am writing a book and I want to use mirror margins. (inside margins will be wider) . Currently I am writing and proofing text but havent formatted. I am using different documents for each little section as it is too difficult to handle otherwise. After proofing each document and each chapter I will add endnotes which are curently pasted in full within the text and highlighted so this is not a problem. When this is done I will put each chapter together and I will be sending it to someone to put collate ready for printing to include roman numerals because the publisher wants one document.

Q1 Should I worry about formatting at this stage or later when I put it together using mirrored margins. Is there any problems doing it like this? ( I cant print double pages).

Q2 Will putting pictures into a page layout using Mirror image be difficult? If so can anyone suggest a good resource?

Thansks in anticipation.
