explanation:

when using the index, it is really confusing that the "Print layout" view doesn't reflect the actual "print preview"...!!!!

i think that there should my another kind of marker to the indexed words which shouldn't cause any difference between the "Print layout" view and "print preview"...!!!!! knowing that i need to see all the marks during my work on the document.

sometimes, we print out the whole document for auditing, then what we have on the screen is not exactly as what we have in paper (marks are on).

You can toggle the '{XE groundwater} display on/off by clicking on the '¶' symbol on the Home tab.

put if i toggle it off, then there will be no any single indication for the words that have already indexed...!

i think, the notation of the indexed words needs to be changed to avoid the un-matching between the "Print lay out" and "print preview"

Hi Jamal,

You can't expect Word to show the index fields in the print layout view, but not in the print preview AND have both display the document the same way! That is not reasonable. You have to choose between one print layout view (with index fields) or another (without index fields). Print preview should only show what will be printed. Do you want the index fields to print?

well...that didn't satisfy the way i like it to be...just i follow what we have now: to choose one of these modes!
