Tab through fields on a form.
Hello, I have been trying to use a Word 2010 template to create a form where users can only tab between fields or click fields and enter data and save the result, i.e. where the form can not be change other than entering data and saving it. The Excel analogy would be to protect some cells but not others. I can create a template with the text and fields I want but when a user uses it to create a .docx they can edit the text as well as the data fields. Obviously I am confused. Plese, where can I find out how to create a locked down form where the user can enter or edit data in predefined areas (fields?) and nowhere else? Thanks. |

Hi Keep on Ticking,
If you're using formfields, you need to apply forms protection (Protect|Restrict Editing > Editing Restrictions > Filling in Forms) to the document before the user's access will be restricted to the formfields.
