Why do we have this distance above the footer?



Please, see the attached image that shows my question

Althought the settings are all with zero, but still we have distance above the footer?

Why?

It could be affected by your footer layout and contents. Without seeing the document, I can't say.

which reasons are behind these spaces in header and footer?

Hi Jamal,

The space at the top is caused by the paragraph mark under the table in the header. You cannot delete that paragraph break, as Word's design requires there to be a paragraph after the last table in the header (just as it does in the document body). If you reduce the size of that paragraph's font to 1pt, it will virtually disappear.

The space at the bottom of the page is because the Cambria font that you're using requires a certain amount of white space above & below each line. Each font requires a different amount of white space. If you change the two paragraphs and the end of the first page and the start of the second page to Times New Roman, for example, you will see that they will then both fit on the first page.

thank you for the answer

- but why we couldn't delete the paragraph under the table? i did as you have advised me (i set the paragraph font size to be 1)

- i switched to New times roman, but still the space is there at the bottom!! (attached)
