Default Specific format for an academic paper in finance

A number of academic papers use the exakt same format. I like its simplicity and prefer it very much to default format in MS Word. Now I'm about to write an academic paper and therefore I want to know how to go about to obtain the exact same format.

The following two papers have used the format I want to find:
http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.c...act_id=1081337 (One-Click Download)
http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.c...act_id=1399323 (One-Click Download)

What I am wondering is the following:

1. Is there a standardized template one can use to get the same format on regular text, headings, table of contens, equations etc.?
2. Vad is the name of the exact font?
3. Is it the same font that's used throughout both of the papers?
4. Could these paper possibly have been written in a different program than MS Word?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Fred,

The files were created by a program called MikTeX, though you could create a Word template that mimicks the layout. Not hard to do if you spend a little bit of time studying paragraph and character Styles in Word.

The biggest challenge, though, might be getting any complex equations such as those in the first document into a Word document. You might be able to do this with Word's equation editor, though the full MathType add-in might be required.
