Default How do I remove these symbols from view?

Somehow I activated a setting in Word that shows symbols and page breaks that I'd like to deactivate. Any idea how?

In your home ribbon (the one selected in your screenshot), in the paragraph section (halfway across the screen), there is a paragraph symbol button that's selected (looks like kind of a backwards P). Click that button again to un-select it, and it will remove the formatting marks.
