Encarta Dictionary Research stoped working.
The Encarta Dictionary no longer responds to the research requests from inside Word. If I go to the Encarta Dictionary website it works fine. If I go into search options it sometimes lets me update the online services but other times it times out. When I do a search against All Reference Books it’s very slow and only comes back with the Thesaurus and other books.

88 views and no one has this issue? Can anyone at least confirm it’s just me or is the site that Word uses down? Encarta Dictionary: English (North America) http://office.microsoft.com/Research/query.asmx
I don’t get it. The other Research Reference books come up fine and fast as always but not the Encarta North America or UK.

How is this Cross-posted? Sorry, no one ever posted an answer and the other form is not mine created after mine and has no real answer, points to yet another 2-3 years old thread.
Warning! After hours and hours of Googling this poster is aware of other forums and or posts that do not have the answer. ??? In my case it seems the answer (to Encarta Dictionary not working) is to wait. There are reg edits and things about checking you default language and so on but nothing has worked. Seems like an old MS Word thread that did not have a resolve would want to know it still does not and that it may be intermittent or may be the feature is going away or… Last edited by Tanquen; 05-23-2014 at 10:52 AM.
