Default How do I get rid of paragraph symbols I accidentally put in

Hi,

I used to know how to do this, but I forget!!!

I like to type a word document without any paragraph symbols showing when I finish a paragraph and it has been like this forever. Apparently I messed with "something" such that there's a paragraph symbol in every word document I start.

In trying to "remove paragraph symbols" by following help, I somehow added "arrows" now whenever I tab, they are visible.

How can I return, step by step, to return it to its original format of not showing any tab or paragraph marks???

Thanks a lot.
Trudijane

In Word 2007 you should go to the ribbon into Home tab under Paragraph section. Click on the icon at the top right corner.
Now you should be free from the paragraph signs

Default Paragraph Symbols

Hi,
Maybe I don't have World 2007 because I didn't understand your answer. I'm not sure what menus to go to first, etc.

Anyway, someone else wrote to press "Command 8" and all my formatting marks disappeared. If I didn't know that, I'm just wondering how I would do that using my menus!

Thanks,
Trudijane

Whatever version of Word you're in, you can show/hide paragraph marks and other non-printing symbols by clicking the button shown in the attached image.
