word 2019 is trying to open files.doc and microsoft.doc
We are launching word 2019 using CreateProcess to open a document. When word begins it throws two errors stating it cannot find Files.Doc and Microsoft.doc. I cannot find any reference to these in the software options or any template. If we use the same process to launch word 2010 or word 2016 it works correctly. |

Could you please expand on "createprocess." I am not familiar with this.

OK. I know vba enough to get into trouble. Not so with other programming languages.
It looks as if your code is expecting some legacy files. They may be references for your code rather than any part of Word. |

As Charles suggests, look in your code. Those two are almost definitely example filenames which need to be removed from your code.

Thank you for your response. I've checked the document I'm testing with and it has no macro's and has no vba code. The only items that are referenced (from the VBA window) are Visual Basic For Applications, Microsoft Word 16.0 Object Library, OLE Automation, Normal and Microsoft Office 16.0 Object Library.

The code is somewhere other than in your test document.
Given that the .doc extension refers to legacy files, that code is likely ten or more years old. There are no files that come with Word with those names; haven't been since Word 97, at least. |

Have you looked in the Normal template? You should also check the Startup folder for any add-ins.
