I edited my text and deleted it. Help, please
I'm just a poor, miserable idiot.
I had just finished writing a chapter of a book and then I was sure that I had properly saved it. Then, only for my stupidity, I deleted the text, changed the name of the chapter and saved it, thinking that it was ready for writing a new chapter. But this way I deleted my former chapter already saved. I'm so upset, that I'm even unable to make myself understood properly. I think there is no way to get my work back. This is my last hope. |

If the document was never closed, you could use Undo to back out.
I assume this is not saved to OneDrive. |

Thank you for your answer, Charles. Unfortunately my problem, due to my rash stupidity, is more serious and, alas, I think, without solution. I overwrote my text and, without realising it, I saved the overwritten file. Only after closing it and opening it again I realised that my text had disappeared because I had deleted it, overwriting only two lines. Thank you anyway. I'm trying to rewrite the lost chapter, following my scattered handwritten notes. A couple of days of extra work and a good lesson for the future

Try clicking File > Recent > Click ‘Recover Unsaved Documents’ or File > Info > Manage Versions > ‘Recover Unsaved Documents’.
In the opening Window, see if there is anything in the ASD list which you recognise and hopefully help you out. |

Thank you, Moonshine. I had already tried to do that, without hopes, since unfortunately I did save the overwritten document. There is nothing I can do, but writing my chapter again and learning to be more cautious in future. Thank you for your support
