Page break in middle of last sentence!
Hi, all,
In the last sentence of my paragraph, it forces half of the sentence on the next page when there is room available. If I select, "Keep lines together," it pushes the entire paragraph to the next page. Unchecking "Window/Orphan control" improved the situation, but there is still half of the sentence that is pushed to the next page. Please help. I am using Word 2010 and have spent considerable troubleshooting the problem to no avail. Cheers! |

The issue is that you apparently have a footnote attached to the end of the sentence. Naturally, Word does its best to keep the footnote reference on the same page as the footnote to which it refers.

Is there any way to force it not to do that? |

Not really. There are numerous other things you might try to work around the issue, however. These include:
• reducing the body text paragraph before/after spacing; • reducing the footnote paragraph before/after spacing; • reducing the body text line spacing; • compressing the body text character spacing for the affected paragraph; • changing the font/point sizes for the body text and/or footnotes; • moving the footnote reference to earlier in the paragraph, so the footnote stays on that page even if the rest of the paragraph doesn't; • etc.
