Unless you copy/paste as plain text, thus removing all of the website's formatting, including any images, you'll likely need to reformat the content afterwards. You might, however, try changing the copy/paste parameters via File|Options|Advanced>Cut, copy, and paste>Pasting from other programs.

Dear mr Paul
Thanks for your prompt reply.

I tried to remove the back ground colour but failed. I opened the file containg the copied pages. Selected the text and followed the steps suggested by you. This step could not remove the background colour.

This is how I copied the text from website:
Opened and selected texts from website
Selected them
Dragging
Right clicked and selected "copy"
Pasted in the file control V.

Please suggest how to remove back found colour.

Thanks

Ms

For text that you have already brought into a Word document, try selecting it and pressing Ctrl+SpaceBar (to remove font formatting which is not part of the underlying style). Also, press Ctrl+Q (which will remove paragraph formatting that is not part of the underlying style).

Dear mr. Stefans
Thanks for your guidance. Green back ground disappeared when I used control+ space.
But the fonts change, again I select the text and changed to original fonts

Best

What you are describing happens because, by default, the Normal style is applied to text in new, blank documents. Any formatting not stored in that style will be removed as you press Ctrl+SpaceBar and Ctrl+Q.
