Indents not transferring with inserted docs
Hi, I've been trying to insert documents into one document, however, the indents do not always transfer. Some documents do and some don't, some change font and others just do whatever they want. All documents that I'm inserting are formatted identically, page size etc, just not sure why it does so many different things that really make no sense. Thanks. |

Indents are paragraph formatting, often contained in styles.
If you base your documents on the same templates, and use styles for formatting, combining them becomes much easier. Basic Concepts of Microsoft Word - from Shauna Kelly |

The default with inserted documents is that they take on the formatting of the styles in the target document.
As Charles said, the formatting will be predictable if you make use of styles (and templates).
