Default Word changes the margins when opening a RTF file

Hello,
I have the attached RTF file which has certain margins, when I open it in Word 365 the margins are automatically changed to these fixed values: 2.54 cm T/B and 3.17 cm L/R.
Is there a way to avoid this behavior?
Thanks in advance.

Your RTF file is in Letter format with 2.54cm (1in) T/B and 3.18cm (1.25in) L/R margins, as evidenced by the RTF code:
paperw12240\paperh15840\margl1800\margr1800\margt1 440\margb1440
which expresses the dimensions in twips, and Word respects those dimensions; it isn't changing them.
