When I copy from word, URLs and email addresses are truncated before the first period
I have a strange thing happening - when I copy from a MSWord document into another document, the first part of each email address or URL is deleted.
Eg the email address bill.gates@gmail.com is shortened to gates@gmail.com and the URL www.genericdomain.com is shortened to genericdomain.com As far as I can figure out, anywhere I have a period appearing without a space (eg period.nospace ) the first word is stripped out by the copy and past process. If the text I am copying is linked, the link is still preserved correctly - but the first part of the displayed text is still missing. It's driving me crazy (and causing me to make lots of errors in my work - which is data entry for a small business). Any suggestions? Anyone else had that problem? |
