Trying to set up a multi-level numbered document where I want the number and the first sentence to be bold, the rest of the paragraph to be "normal" style. For example:

 1. Definitions . The following terms mean the following.
1.1 Term . The duration of this contract
1.2 Parties. Shall refer to the legal entities entering into this transaction
 2. Termination. Either party may terminate this agreement for the following reasons
2.1 Convenience . Either party may terminate this agreement for convenience with 30 days notice
2.2 Breach . The breached party may terminate this agreement at any time in the event of a breach of contractual terms by the other party

Right now, I have been using Heading 1, 2, etc. to get this, but that forces me to start the next sentence in a new paragrapgh. I would like it to start in the same paragraph.

Any advise, suggestions welcome.

You should get familiar with setting up your styles to get your desires. Here are two links to get familiar with...

Thanks, am familiar with styles and use them a lot, but this combination of multi-level numbering, bold, and normal in the same para is what is perplexing me. Will take a look at the links.

Sorry, missed that part about the same paragraph. You most likely need to look at the style separator.

or even a StyleRef (maybe?) could help

Try using the Style Separator. That lets you use two (or more) Word paragraph styles in one logical paragraph.

(This link is the spot to look in the page previously linked.)

(StyleRef would not work for this.)
