Default How can you disable automatic superscripting?


Our organization does not want the 9th to have the th superscripted automatically. Is there any way to turn this off?

That's an autocorrect feature.
Click Word Options -> Proofing -> Auto Format as you Type -> Ordinals with Superscript

Note that if you don't want to disable the option (because you may need it in other documents, for example), you can use Ctrl+Z to Undo the correction at the time it occurs.
