Default Section break

Hi
I would like to stick my footer only to the first page of my Template. So I put a section break (next page) at the bottom of the first page. However, if I type before the break, it will go to the second page (with footer, while I dont want footer on second page).
How can I stick my section break to the first page, so that the text will write over the break?

(If i put a continuous break, it still gives me a page break for some reason).
Thank you for help.

I guess the question is really why does my Word modify a continuous break into a page break if I try to delete the page break at the end of the document.

A couple of points:
  1. You do not need a section break, any section break.
  2. There is a difference between a page break and a section break.
See Delete a Next-Page Section Break that Word won't delete.

As for the first point, use, instead, the option of different first page for your header and footer. No section break needed.

when I do First page different, it deletes my footer.
so I decided to create a section break.
I was wondering, if I delete the footer and header on last page after the page break, can I delete the last page?

Different first page does not delete your footer. Read the last two links.

I think my footer is related to my pagination. When I say First page different, I have my page number on second page but not on first, that is correct, but my footer disappears together with the first page number.

yes I did, but it is not saying what I am asking. I need a header and footer, no pahe number on first page, and ONLY footer and page number on second page. If I follow what is said in the links, the header will also appear on second page, which I dont want.

ok, I fixed it, I just needed to erase manually the header on page 2

Glad you got it straightened out.

The key fact is that each section in Word has three headers and footers (in sets). They are:
  • the Header/Footer main (default) - This is the first-page header/footer until Different first page is selected. If Different Odd and Even is selected, then it becomes the Odd-Page header/footer.
  • The First Page Header/Footer
  • The Even Page Header/Footer
See Header/Footer Settings Recap.

Even if you do not have either of the options checked, Word has these and they can have content even if you do not see that content.
