Default TOC is picking up text in a table

When I generate a TOC, it is picking up all the text in 2 tables in my document and putting that text in the TOC. Why? What do I do to correct this?

Thanks!

That is because of the style you have designated for the text inside the table. Change the style of the text to something other than TOC1 - TOC9 (i.e., body text) then update the TOC and you should see the change.

Good response. However, TOC1 - TOC9 are used to format the TOC, they are not picked up in the TOC. I suspect you meant Heading 1 - Heading 9.

Yes, somehow all of the text in my table was Heading 2. Don't know how that happened. I changed it to Normal - Body and the TOC is perfect now.
