Defining New Headings, but continuing numbering.
Hi,
I have a document that has several headings and a numbering structure. Where I have a problem is heading 3 for instance I would like to have that as a heading in some places and have a heading type format. I try to create another style call it 3A for example, where it would just be numbering format but the problem is, is that the number won't pick up from the previous section. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Christian |

Try basing your 3A style on style 3. You can then modify it to remove some of the heading formatting (but not the outline level).
All numbering should be initially set up following the instructions at: How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in Ribbon Versions of Word by Shauna Kelly. |
