Word 2016 and One Drive Question...
Hi,
I just got Microsoft Word 2016 after being on 2010. I love that I can save my To Do list document to One Drive and then see it magically appear on my smart phone, although sometimes it seems I have to delete the current To Do list from my phone and then wait for the new file to appear, but that's not my problem. On my desktop computer, I usually save my Word document to my My Documents folder as the day progresses. Then, I choose, "Save As" and save it to my One Drive so that its available on my phone. My problem is that I always have to immediately go back again to, "Save As" to make sure that any future saves while editing and using the Control Save command saves it to my desktop computer and not only the One Drive location. Is there any way to simultaneously save my To Do list to both my desktop AND my One Drive? Thank you. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 02-15-2018 at 01:25 PM. Reason: Mark as solved |

Yes, but easier may be to close and reopen Word.
Word, itself, does not have this capacity. You would need macros or the Add-In linked below. See the following page for directions and a free Add-In. Save in two places |

Oh, one more thing, just wanted to let you know that I love this Word Add On, but the only thing is that is doesn't do what the configuration is supposed to let you do, that is, overwrite a file with the same name.
So, as I constantly Ctrl S to save my To Do as I'm working on it through the day, when I look at my phone later, there are like a dozen or more of the same document, number (1), (2) and so on. No big deal as I can just delete them and look at the most recent, but I wish there was an Add On that did this. Again, this one "says" that you can do it, but it doesn't work for me on a PC running Windows 7. Thanks again though. |

You need to check none on the options.

Yes, thanks, that's what I had told you in the last message, I've tried that already, exactly like you have it, and I still have the problem.
I'm guessing it's just not written to work that way with the 2016 version, but I appreciate your help. I'll use it anyway. |

Also, check the box to overwrite. I did not have it checked in the screenshot.

Yep, had tried that too, Charles. Thank again, but I'll just use it the way it works I guess.
