Default Seeking help recreating a template from the internet

Years ago I created a resumé on a website and saved it as a word document. I used to edit it with no issues using Word 2004 on my Mac. I am now using Word 2010 on a PC with Windows 10, and when I went to edit the document, it threw the entire template out of whack.

I'm not well-versed in using Word, and I'm hoping that someone here would be willing to help me either recreate the template, or otherwise fix this issue.

I have an altered version of the document with my personal information removed, but I'm not sure of the best way to make it available for this community to review.

If anyone out there would be willing to give me a hand, I would greatly appreciate it!

Any time you open a Word document on computer using a different print driver than the one in use when it was created, some layout changes are to be expected. That's because Word uses information from the active printer driver to optimise the layout for that printer.

You can attach a document to a post via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen. However, that won't tell us how the document should look in terms of your original layout, as anyone opening it will see it formatted for their printer driver.

How to attach a screenshot or file in this forum.
What happens when I send my document to someone else? Will Word mess up my formatting?

Thank you so much for the reply! I believe the main issue I'm having is that it was created on an internet program and then translated over to word. I have strange issues, like I have bullet points and underlines that are showing up as images instead of proper points and lines. I'm honestly kind of confused as to how I ever got it to edit properly before. I guess I didn't really make very big changes. When I get to a computer I will upload the file give some more detail to the quirky problems that are arising. Thanks again!

Thank you for the resources! When I get home I'll upload the file and give some more details and hopefully we can figure out the best fix.

Default From the web

Since this is coming from the web, where layout is handled differently from Word, you may also get a better idea of why placements are as they are, by displaying the hidden characters, such as spaces, tabs, blank paragraphs, etc. In the Home tab of the ribbon, click the paragraph symbol, essentially a backwards P to display these characters; clicking it again will hide them.

Hope this helps.
