Hi, I am endeavouring to edit information in a document which has been saved as a picture in MS word but I don't know how. I have contacted Microsoft but they were not aware of any application that could help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you rosie

Editing a picture of a document, as a document, is like trying to change the oil on a picture of a car.

With documents, it is a little easier. You need to get the picture through an OCR program.

What Charles is saying is that you cannot edit a picture of a document in Word.

You may be able to convert the picture to text using OCR (Optical Character Reading) software. There are a number of online OCR tools available e.g. https://onlineocr.net/ but I have not tried them, so cannot attest to their efficacy.

You could install a commercial product such as FineReader, but whether it is worth the cost for a single document only you can decide.

You may be able to install & use Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) with Microsoft Office 2016. If so, that will give you the capacity to perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR), after which you can then copy text from the scanned image to another location.
