Default Primary Command Buttons (along top of window) Disappeared

For some reason, the set of buttons that typically run along the top-left are gone - no more capability to use a button to save, or undo, etc. Tried all sorts of things and googling, but no luck. Timing urgent, please offer suggestions as you can.

The very top ones are usually the QAT buttons.

In the top-right corner of the screen should be a little symbol (circled in screenshot below). Click on it and tell it to display your tabs and commands.

Can you provide a screenshot of the top of your window and a sample document?

Do you see anything along the top of your Window?

Are you perhaps in Reading mode/view?

Now I see where the buttons went - they appear to have moved lower down. Since I have never previously seen the QATs in this location, I was simply not looking for them there. Not sure how this happened, but I can live with it. However, if you can tell me how to move the QATs back to the "top", I would appreciate it.

At the right-hand end of the QAT buttons is a small dropdown. Click on that to expand it, then click on 'Show Above the Ribbon'.

Paul's answered your question.

I have long kept my QAT under the Ribbon because it is too long to view at the top. This costs some screen space but my QAT extends the width of the page. You may be underutilizing this valuable tool with only the default setting. It lets you easily put the Ribbon commands (as well as many not on the Ribbon) you use the most on all of your screens without jumping from tab to tab.
