Samsky is on a distinguished road
Default Read Only

All of a sudden many of the word documents on a shared folder on a Windows 2008 SBS server open in Read Only when I go to save the changes it says the file is read only and I have to save it as a different file name. I have full rights to the folder and no one else has the file open what can be causing this. I have Office 2016 on a Windows 7 Pro OS runninng in a Windows Domain using Roaming profiles.

Thanks,

Since this is a recent change, you should be discussing the matter with your IT people; it's not a Word issue, per se.
