Why do page numbers cause text to shift?
Hello,
I'm trying to add page numbers to my document and it's shifting the text around. Here's some before and after images: BEFORE: AFTER: I don't want the text shifted because, as you can see, it's a poem with structured stanzas. I'd prefer that each stanza not get split across pages or sections. Even if I shrink the header and footer down to 0 height with "header from top" and "footer from bottom", I still get the odd line being shifted to the next column or page. This is mostly on pages where the height shrinkage to 0 didn't apply (why does it get applied to some pages and not other... do sections breaks have anything to do with it?). Why can't Word insert headers/footers that don't interfere with the text? |
