Review Compare of docs not accurate?
Hi All,
using Office 2016 I am trying to compare 2 documents and expecting to be same but they are shown Revisions. Steps to do 1. Open Word 2. Insert > chart > column (just use the default data and close Excel) 3. Save file as 1.docx and close word 4 . Repeat steps 1-2 and save the file as 2.docx Now Open Word > Review >Compare use 1.docx and 2.docx expecting them to be same and 0 revisions. I get 2 revisions Is this a bug? your help appreciated. |

Presumably, just some undocumented 'feature' of how the compare function works. Even in Word 2010, if you use File Explorer to make a copy of 1.docx, then compare that with the original, you'll get 1 change recorded. Evidently the two changes have something to do with the time-stamp difference.
