Default Smaller top/bottom margin than .5 inch

Is there a way (or any other word processor) for me to have a smaller top/bottom margin than .5 inch? Such as .25 inch or whatever? I need to use the max amount of page real estate as is possible.

If your printer (and its driver) supports it, you can make the margins smaller.

Typically, the smallest you can go is about 1/4in (6mm). Full-bleed printers (e.g. photo printers) can go as low as 0.
