File Preview in WinExplorer & Templates
I've encountered an odd issue and was wondering if anyone else has encountered it.
Win10, Office 2016 WinExplorer set with Preview Pane active. 1. Select a template. It previews to the right. 2. Double-click on the template to launch Word. Opens correctly. 3. Close Word w or w/o saving. 4. Double click on the same template or another template. The blue box associated with the Word splash screen will momentarily flash, but that's all. It will just be the blue box, though; no text. Docx files open normally. 5. Make sure you're out of Word. 6. Restart computer. You'll get a message that Word is still open (it will not show up in the Task Manager). Continue with the restart. 7. Once restarted, you can open a template again--once. It is as though something about templates and print preview are incompatible, and the template gets lodged sideways somewhere. Turn off the file preview function and there's no problem. Anyone else run into this issue? |
