Default Showing more styles in the Style panel

Is it possible to reduce the amount of wasted white space in the Styles panel of the ribbon to maybe double the number of styles presented from five to 10?

You can always click on the downward arrow in the lower right-hand corner of your image so that you can see as many styles as you want...or, scroll through them. The styles dialog box will appear on the right-side of your screen. Select OPTIONS from the lower right-hand corner of the dialog box to adjust how you want the styles to be displayed.

That doesn't really address my issue at all. You might as well say "you could always use Notepad instead". I don't want to scroll through them; I wan't the software to make better use of the space on my screen. I want to get more work done in a given unit of time which means fewer clicks/operations.

I was only making a "suggestion"! Your original post did not indicate that of your response. With that in mind, I will resist the urge to try and help you further.

Sorry, this is a help forum staffed by volunteers - your fellow users. No one here is in any position to make changes to the program. The suggestion was of a potential other way to accomplish what you want.

Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S will give you the Styles Pane

Also, the Styles Group on the Home tab is only styles selected as "Quick Styles." There are far more styles available and potentially in your document than are shown there.

If you know the names of styles you want to apply, you can apply them quickly via the Apply Styles pane (Ctrl+Shift+S). Start typing a style name and, as soon as Word AutoCompletes the name, you can press Enter to apply the style.

You can also modify which styles appear in the Quick Styles as well as their order.
