Spaces after numbering
I have been tearing my hair out today. I have created a document and used the 1-1.1-1.1.1 numbering for the different sections. When I get to number 10 the first level is ok (10). But the next level (10.1) and so on has a larger space between the digit and the start of the text. I have look at the format, cleared formatting, reapplied it.made it a table, took it away. Adjusted the margins and tabs on the ruler and in the program, everything I can think of. I. read some people were having problems with Verdana text. I am using Times New Roman. I used Ctl space... Anyone have any idea? |

Most likely, for wider paragraph numbers the text gets pushed to the next default tab stop. You will have to adjust the "Set tab stop at" position for you numbered items. Click in the first level 1 paragraph, click Home | Multilevel List | Define New Multilevel List and adjust the settings. See http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/NumberAlign...#NumberedLists. Also see http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...g20072010.html.
