Default Writing in columns and text blocks

Hey,

how can I write in columns and let the text appear in "blocks"?

More detailed:
1.) I'd like to have three columns, which I can create by using tab-stopp etc.
2.) However, if I write a longer text in the third column, the text continues just beneath the first column. But I want it to remain in the third column.

So in fact I'd like to get the same result as when I use a table/chart.

Kind regards

Use a three-column table.

What is restricting you? You did not mention any restricting parameters in your OP.

I'm afraid I forgot to mention it explicitly

It's just that I am writing something for a second person who needs it without any tables. I only got an example of "how it should look like", but it seems as if it wasn't written with word, so that's why I am stuck with it.

Well, we (other readers of this thread) don't know what it is supposed to "look like" so it would be difficult to offer solutions.

Actually, the 3-column table recommended above is the solution to get what you want. If it is the table/column borders that you don't want to show, you can turn those off (see attached file).

Unless you're a masochist (or the person specifying is a sadist), a table is the only way you'd do this.

You should ask why you are not allowed to use tables. It makes no sense.
You can have a table without any borders so it does not look like a table.

Allright! The reason is that I'm doing a transliteration and the whole document will be used afterwards with different analyzing instruments that I'm not familiar with. Writing it with a table is - as I was told - not cominable with this software.

Unless you can provide a document showing the "how it should look like" output, I doubt any progress will be made. Even then, I suspect you'll be unable to prevent the content from one tabbed block bleeding/wrapping into others. That said, if you're saving the output as a plain text file that shouldn't matter.

Another option might be to use Excel and save the output in csv format.
