Default There was a problem sending the command to the program.

I'm using Microsoft Word 16 and whenever I click on a Word document I get the message: "There was a problem sending the command to the program." The file does open, but I would like to get it fixed so I do not have to get these messages. I tried a clean install of Office, but to no avail.
