Default Too many fonts

Recent downloads of fonts from Fonts101.com has given me a plethora of different useful fonts. I have recently downloaded and installed 120 plus fonts.
My system is running Windows 10 Pro and Office 2013.

It would be so helpful if Microsoft allowed user control about what fonts show in the drop down. More to the point it would be better if there were more than one drop down list (controlled and named by the user & not locked down like Microsoft is so prone to do with their programs) which contained only those fonts you wanted in that list.

Hi mswmacroman,

I'm not sure what the point of posting that here is. As indicated on every page here, MSOfficeForums.com is not affiliated with Microsoft.

Three of your four posts to date have been critical of perceived limits in the way Office works. I suggest you take up any concerns of this nature with Microsoft. You can do that for Word at: http://word.uservoice.com/

Default My bad, sorry

Would have been better if I asked "does anyone know how to thin out the fonts drop down list?" I can't expect others to read between the lines

Word has no such facility.

Perhaps you should consider uninstalling the fonts you don't really need - leave the standard ones installed, though, if there's a likelihood you'll need to view documents others might have produced using them.

As a technical author (and, separately, an occasional Word user) I work with a very restricted range of fonts. To make sure I have a usably short list of fonts in various program interfaces under Windows, I simply moved the many unwanted fonts into a different folder.
