Unhappy Can't change logo in Word 2007

I've been given a Word document where they want me to change a logo that is already there.
Normally, I would right click the graphic and select "Change Graphic", but that option is not there when I right click this image.
The image doesn't seem to be inside a header, but there is a blank, empty header at the top of the page above the logo.
The logo is on the left side of the top of the page, with a text box on the right side.
When I try to select the empty space next to the logo, it selects the inside of the text box instead. When I try to delete the logo, the text box expands to fill the top of the page and the cursor goes right back in the text box. Then when I try to insert the new logo, it goes inside that text box and the text does not flow around it like it did with the original logo that was outside the text box.

What am I doing wrong? How can I get this to work?

  1. Work with a copy.
  2. Delete the text box or move it to the back.
  3. Can you now select the logo?
  4. It may well be in the header (or footer) even if appearing in the middle of the page.

Default Stranger and stranger

I can't seem to select the text box at all. When I highlight the text inside and delete it, the text from the body of the form (which appears to be a separate text box with its own non-printing light border around it) moves up to replace the deleted text.

Maybe these text boxes aren't text boxes at all? Maybe they are table cells? But even then, I should be able to select them, shouldn't I?

When you said the logo might be in the header even if it doesn't look that way, I tried selecting all in the header and deleted it and that seemed to eliminate the blank header area completely when I double clicked out of it. I thought that if the logo really was in the header, it would have deleted too, but it didn't.

While in the header area, did you try Ctrl+A to select all?

Yes, that's how I selected all, with control-A.
I just can't figure out what's separating text from the graphic and how I can select the area the graphic is in?
Maybe a screenshot will help you spot whatever I'm missing?

I just figured it out. I selected the Format tab and I found a "Change Picture" button I clicked while the logo was selected and it let me replace it with the new logo. I could swear I used to be able to do that with a right mouse click.
Thanks for your help. Hopefully, this thread will help anyone else out there having a similar problem.
