Automatically insert the name of the user
Is there a way of having Word automatically insert the name of the user on opening a document? I have tried Quick Parts and field but it doesn't work when other users try it.
Thanks! |

Most Word fields including the USERNAME field do not update automatically. It is necessary to update them manually.
The most reliable method would be to use a macro, either to update the field, or to simply insert the user name at the appropriate place, but then you cannot force users to run the macros.
