Hi everyone, so the problem I'm currently having on my PC is that Microsoft Word isn't opening. I've tried word diagnostics and such and nothing. I'm running it on a HP pavillion dv6 and the edition is word 2010. When I try pressing the microsoft word symbol on my taskbar, the word symbol is highlighted as if the program is starting to run. Then the highlight just fades away. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

It not apparent to me what you mean by this. No Office 2010 application has any 'diagnostics' tools.

Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Start > Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?

Yea thats what I meant by diagnostics. When I try doing that, when I press the change button, a new window just pops up saying please wait while setup prepares the necessary files and then the windows closes a second later and nothing happened. And I don't exactly want to uninstall everything right now.

If the window closes so soon, that suggests something is seriously awry with your Office installation. An uninstall/reinstall may be required. None of your settings or documents should be affected by this, though it's always advisable to make regular data backups - and especially before making major system changes.
