Default Linking specific cells in Excel to function with MergeField?

Hello everyone,

I have a Word file which works with MergeField producing multiple pages from the data it reads. However, some of the fields, like date and sender name, also change but they are not table dependant, rather situational. I would like to have these in an Excel file, change them accordingly, and then make them work alongside the MergeField data.

The problem is that when I get the MergeField produces, although MergeField works properly, I get the Excel link path on the date and sender name instead of the actual date and sender name.

Can someone help me out fix this?

Thank you in advance.
