Default duplicating field values in a word document

I'm trying to set up a template with standard fields ie tennant name and letting address and then duplicate the values elsewhere into the document. Is this possible?

Many thanks

Teresa Harrison

Don't be dismayed by the size of the article. It contains what you are looking for. There are a number of ways of replicating data in a document and which is best takes some thought. If anyone suggests which you should use without knowing a lot more about what you are trying to do it is not all that helpful.

I suspect the most elegant are content controls mapped to custom properties. That lets you change a value anywhere in a document and have the result show up in all the other locations. However, that is not as simple to set up as some other methods.

I read through the link but it does not solve the problem that brought me to this site.

I would like to build a document similar to the OP. I currently have a doc I use for building inspections. It is roughly 5 pages long with numerous check boxes for each discrepancy a structure may have. I would like to be able to check a box if it applies and have that same information populate onto a separate location at the end of the document so I can print one sheet vs. 5 sheets. Is this possible without a long macro? I can do something similar is Access or Excel but am really trying to avoid using those applications.

Thanks all.

I suspect the article (Repeating Data (Populating Multiple Like Fields) ) does contain your answer, however, I'm glad you found a solution. Would you mind posting a link here to the thread that helped you so others can benefit?
